An Amazing Week at SonHarvest County Fair VBS! E-mail

SonHarvest County Fair - Vacation Bible School 2009

SonHarvest County Fair, our Vacation Bible School program for 2009 was an amazing week of experiencing God at work in the hearts and lives of the 150+ children and 100+ volunteers alike! Each morning kicked off with a gathering in the sanctuary, where we all learned fun and moving songs of praise (with a live band!), gave an offering to help children of Covenant pastors in Ecuador go to school, and were encouraged for the day by Teacher Ginny. Each fruit & veggie-themed group then headed off for their Bible story time, and then rotated through each of these three areas: the Farmer's Market, Bible Exploration, and Outdoor games.

The Farmer's market was a bustle of fun activities: beautiful crafts (many destined to grace families' shelves for years to come), excellent food (so good, we even got kids to eat beets!), adorable animals, and an amazing hand-built barn set where group photos and keepsake portraits were taken. Bible Exploration was led by Pastor Dave, whose engaging delivery and heart for young people captured the attention and imagination of kids growing hungrier for God every day. And who could match the energy of games leader Tyler? With great weather for outdoor play, we sure got all the wiggles worked out!

Each day finished with a wrap-up in the sanctuary, with lots of fun surprises and celebrations. How priceless to see the delight of the children, and hear their excitement as they headed home telling the stories of all they had seen and done that day.

We extend a HUGE thank-you to all the volunteers, kids, and families, and the First Covenant body for making this week possible. Each year gets better and better! Relive some of the highlights of the week in the slideshow below...
